Termites are social insects. Termites have a strict caste system which consists of worker termites, solders, winged reproductive termites, a queen termite and a king termite. They feed on wood and cellulose and can cause significant damage to a dwelling.
STRUCTURAL DAMAGE FROM TERMITES:
Sometimes insurance does not cover damage from termites. This makes it even more necessary for a thorough termite inspection. In addition to looking for visible signs of termite infestations such as mud tubes, sunken or wrinkled coverings and hollowed wood, we use infrared thermal cameras to help spot termite infestations within the walls. While infrared cameras do not “see” through walls, they detect infrared energy and convert that energy into a thermal image. With this technology, it is possible to spot termite nests within walls by analyzing thermal anomalies where there is no visible evidence to the naked eye.
